Not one, but two seahorses together! When mating they swim together over the reef with their tails entwined before the female deposits the eggs in a ´kangaroo pounch´ on the male, who then looks after them till they hatch. Golden-tail moray (Gymnothorax miliaris). It is very unusual to find these during the day. A week for the family ´Syngnathidae´ - two differnt seahorses (hippocampus hippocampus) and the very difficult to spot pipefish (pejepipa in Spanish) -syngathus typhle. Last week we had the first ever Sub-Racing event in Arinaga, and provided technical and safety support for the event. Sadly, this Spiny Pufferfish (Chilomycterus espinoso) has a serious injury over the eye. One expert put it down to an unexpected collision with a rocky outcrop, while another felt it was symptomatic of a cancerous growth.
