Latest Photo from the el Cabr贸n Marine Reserve 2022/08/24

Here is one of my favourite pictures that I have taken over the last few days 馃憣 Not one, but a pair of pipefish (Syngathus typhle). This is only the third time in 20 years I have seen pipefish in Gran Canaria. They appeared to be practising for ´Strictly´ by dancing vertically next to each other. To give an ideal of size the are about the length of a biro and as thin as a blade of sea-grass. -- 2022/08/24 in Arinaga Tags: #pipefish, #divinggrancanaria, #divingArinaga, #buceoArinaga -- Delivered by Feed43 service

Here is one of my favourite pictures that I have taken over the last few days 馃憣 Goldentail moray (Gymnothorax miliaris). These beautifully coloured morays are mainly nocturnal, but occasionally we see one during the day. -- 2022/08/17 in Arinaga Tags: -- Delivered by Feed43 service

Latest Photo from the el Cabr贸n Marine Reserve 2022/08/12

Here is one of my favourite pictures that I have taken over the last few days 馃憣 Honeycomb Filefish (Cantherhines pardalis) for the second time! Four years ago, 25/07/18 we saw this in El Cabr贸n... a fish from the African coast, and at the time the first recorded sighting in the Canaries! A couple of days ago, just 10m from where we saw it in 2018 .. a second sighting. It is near an area that does not get dived much, and looks very similar to a blue-fin damselfish, so which is more likely, a second individual in almost exactly the same place, or a cunning individual who has evaded detection for four years ?? -- 2022/08/12 in Arinaga Tags: #divinggrancanaria, #divingArinaga, #buceoArinaga #filefish -- Delivered by Feed43 service

Here is one of my favourite pictures that I have taken over the last few days 馃憣 The white-spotted octopus (Octopus macropus) is only found on night dives in certain locations. They live underneath the sand during the day and emerge at night to hunt on the reefs. Also known as long-legged octopus -- 2022/07/31 in Arinaga Tags: #divinggrancanaria, #divingArinaga, #buceoArinaga, # -- Delivered by Feed43 service
